I had a leftover roll of kraft paper from the dollar store, and I free-handed a tree design, which is about 4.5 feet in length. I taped it to my wall, but the plainness of it was not working out. I grabbed my leftover crepe paper stash and ruffled it on the tree with some tape to give it a garland effect.
Still not happy, I grabbed some doilies that I also stashed away (if you can't tell, I hold on to everything), and I threw them on the wall to look like snow. My children were happy to make their ornaments for the tree. We cut out circles from the kraft paper and glued shreds of the crepe paper onto them.

Above is the photo before the ornaments. The tiny "star" is also scrunched up crepe paper. That is my daughter decoupaging her ornament. We used the same colors as the garland and star.

The ornaments were simply taped onto the tree.

We love it! It gives our dining area a nice touch!
